Iraq: Two explosions reportedly heard in Babil province

BAGHDAD, April 20 (YPA) –Two explosions were reportedly heard in Babil province, south of Baghdad, Iraq, on Friday night. Columns of smoke were seen rising from one of the camps in the area.

According to reports, the explosions were a result of an air strike targeting a base belonging to the Popular Mobilization Forces.

Local media reported heavy damage as a result of the explosion in addition to the injury of two.

It is believed that large caches of weapons were attacked.

There were conflicting reports as to who was responsible for the strike, with some reports blaming Israel and others claiming it was a US attack.

Meanwhile, Iraqi media quoted security sources as saying that an airstrike targeted the joint military base of Camp Kalsu south of Baghdad, which includes forces from the army, federal police, and Popular Mobilization Forces.

According to the information, Al-Mahawil General Hospital received two wounded from the Popular Mobilization Forces as a result of the aggression on Camp Kalsu.
