Al-Houthi comments on Saudi lifting ban on women’s driving

SANAA, June 24 (YPA) – Head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohamed Ali al-Houthi, commented on Saudi lifting ban on women’s driving car after decades of forbidding women from the drive.

“The Saudi royal family sees granting the rights to women and people as an achievement,” al-Houthi said on his Twitter account, adding that this not achievement, rather it’s the rights of people that must take.

Al-Houthi said Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman took such act to help him get rid of the bad reputation he and his royal family suffer in front of the world.

On Sunday, Saudi government lifted the ban, granting women the rights to drive cars after decades of repression.
