Chaos, looting operations prevail in Marib city as Sanaa forces approach

MARIB, Sept. 23 (YPA) – An unprecedented state of chaos and unrest has prevailed in Marib city, in conjunction with the approach of the Salvation Government forces from the city, local sources said on Thursday.

The coalition forces have withdrawn many military equipment and weapons from some of their camps in the 4th and 7th military regions of the coalition forces in the city, according to the sources.

The sources confirmed that the process of withdrawing weapons from the Al-Juba front and the city of Marib came as a result of the approach of the army and the popular committees (Sanaa forces) to the eastern entrance to the province.

The tribesmen were able to loot large military equipment belonging to the coalition forces, including military vehicles, cannons, and machine guns, after setting up ambushes for the coalition recruits while fleeing the battles on the outskirts of Al-Juba, Al-Abdiya, and Harib fronts.

The sources said that the tribesmen also carried out many looting operations of weapons stores, after the withdrawal of the coalition forces from the areas of Harib, Al-Abdiya, and Al-Juba.

Residents of Marib city witnessed military convoys arriving in the city from the Harib, Al-Abdiya, and Al-Juba fronts to leave the city towards Hadramout province before they were looted by tribes loyal to the coalition and the Islah party militia, the sources added.
