Armed ambush targets Interior Minister in “Hadi’s govt” in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Aug. 27 (YPA) – A number of the guards of the Interior Minister in the “Hadi’s government”, Ibrahim Haidan, were killed and wounded, during an attempt to assassinate him in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, on Thursday.

Informed sources said that the convoy of Haidan was exposed to an armed ambush on the road linking between Sayoun city and Al-Abr area, while was leaving Sayoun.

According to the sources, the attackers opened fire at the minister’s car, so his guards responded to them, and Haidan and his driver miraculously survived, while a number of his guards were killed and wounded.

The sources did not mention accurate statistic of the victims in the armed ambush, or the party behind the assassination attempt.

During the past months, Haidan’s house in Aden has been subjected to several raids by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militia, and a weapons store of his guards was looted.
