Leader in STC militias injured in attack targeted checkpoint in Lahj

LAHJ, Jul. 31 (YPA) – A military leader loyal to security-belt forces of the southern transitional council was injured on Saturday and other elements in an attack targeted a military checkpoint in Lahj province.

In a statement issued by the security-belt forces, they confirmed that the attack which targeted Mashwaq checkpoint in Wadi al-Faqir area of al-Musaimir district led to wounding the checkpoint commander, Faroq al-Aqim with two others and damaging their military pick-up vehicle.

The statement considered the armed attack as a failed assassination attemptfor the checkpoint leader.
