Clashes break out between “STC and Islah” explo in Abyan

ABYAN, April 17 (YPA) – Violent clashes broke out Friday between Islah militants and the UAE-backed  Southern Transitional  Council (STC)  Militia in Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources said .

According to the Sources, the clashes broke out after the failure of mediation led by the “giants” between Islah militants and STC in the coastal directorate of Ahawr.

The clashes left several wounded from both sides, amid signs of widespread clashes between the two sides, the sources said.

The STC seeks to retake the strategic Ahawr area after Islah militants took control over the area and deployed several military positions and points along the Ahawr coast to Shabwah province.
