SANAA, Jan. 12 (YPA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hisham Abdullah, met on Tuesday in Sanaa with Director of Operations of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Dominik Stillhart.
They discussed areas of cooperation between Yemen and the ICRC delegation and ways to enhance and develop them.
In the meeting, Sharaf expressed his sincere condolences to the ICRC on the killing of three of its employees during the recent attack that targeted Aden Airport, hoping that this incident would not affect the ICRC’s activities in Yemen.
The Foreign Minister confirmed the government’s readiness to provide all facilities for the work of the ICRC delegation in Sanaa, urging the committee to double its activities in Yemen during the current year, in line with the growing humanitarian needs.
For his part, Stillhart assured that the ICRC will continue to provide all possible support to Yemen to contribute to alleviating the human suffering of the Yemeni people.
