25 policemen killed in northern Afghanistan attack

SANAA, Oct. 21 (YPA) – At least twenty-five policemen, including a senior officer, were killed on Wednesday in an attack by militants in Takhar province, northern Afghanistan, Xinhua reported.

An armed attack struck government forces and killed 25 policemen, including a senior officer in the province, provincial government spokesman Mohammad Jawad Hajri said.

On Monday, at least 13 people were killed and more than 120 injured in a car bomb explosion in the western Afghan province of Ghor

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

However, the Taliban have stepped up their attacks recently after signing an agreement with the American occupier under which they would take over the country in exchange for safeguarding the interests of the occupiers.
