Hadhramaut plagued by assassinations

HADHRAMAUT, Sept 26 (YPA) – The occupied province of Hadhramaut on Saturday witnessed separate crimes, as a result of security deterioration that has been going on in the province for more than five years.

According to a local source, unknown gunmen on a motorcycle shot and killed a soldier in the so-called Hadhramian elite funded by the UAE occupation forces, Ayman Jamal bin Taleb, in the Qat market in Houtat Ahmed bin Zain in Shibam district, killing him instantly.

The gunmen fled the scene,  the source said.

The source noted that the incident was met with great resentment among citizens, who denounced the continued security chaos in the province.

In a related context, according to close sources, the first military region staff commander of the 135-mica brigade, Brigadier General Yahya Abu Awaj, survived an assassination attempt by unknown assailants in Seiyun city.

The incidents came hours after the former Director of Security of Mukalla, Colonel Jamal Bin Aoun al-Kawti, was shot dead by gunmen in the city.

The killings in Hadhramaut coincide with angry protests in Mukalla city condemning the deterioration of services, including electricity, and forces loyal to Hadhramaut governor suppressed and shot protesters, and carried out arrests of many peaceful protesters.

Observers believe that the insecurity, which affects the southern governorates in general and Hadhramaut in particular, has resulted in many civilian, military and security casualties due to the poor performance of the security services.

They blamed Hadi’s government and the coalition for the insecurity and the spread of armed and terrorist gangs in the occupied territories.
