Unknown gunmen assassinate military commander of STC in Abyan

ABYAN, July 23 (YPA) – Unknown gunmen believed to be from al-Qaeda militants assassinated on Thursday the second military commander of security-belt forces loyal to southern transitional council in Abyan province, sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources said that the elements of al-Qaeda assassinated Ali al-Mahwri and threw his body to the floods paths in al-Makhzan area.

This comes a few hours after members of the so-called Al-Qaeda organization assassinated Muhammad Fadhl Al-Hashani, a commander in security-belt operations in al-Wadhia region in the same province.
