SANAA, Jan. 27 (YPA) –The Yemeni army fighting Saudi-led coalition have advanced 100 square miles deep along the border of Saudi southern territory, US-based daily The Hill newspaper reported on Thursday.

“We are talking about 100 square miles of the kingdom, maybe more,” said the newspaper.

Since the beginning of the war on Yemen before three-years, the coalition, which is led by Saudi Arabi and the United Arab Emirates tried to bring back the government of the resigned president Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, who lives in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

The UAE occupying forces, with the help of Colombian mercenaries, quickly seized the city of Aden, but the Yemeni army forces managed to control the capital Sanaa, and 20 percent of the country’s territory, where 80 percent of the population (a total of 27 million) lives.

Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have different views on the usefulness of continuing to support Hadi. Last weekend, southern Yemeni activists in Aden formed the implicit support of the UAE, a transitional southern council, and vowed to overthrow Hadi’s government, but a Saudi official described this ad as unacceptable.
