WHO warns of Corona outbreak again

GENEVA, June 30 (YPA) – The World Health Organization (WHO)’s Director-General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus said on Monday that the novel Corona virus (COVID-19) “still has a lot of room to move, and most people are still vulnerable to infection.”

“We all want it to end, we all want to continue our lives, but the hard truth is that the epidemic is not coming to an end,” Ghebreyesus added in a press conference via the visual communication technology held Monday evening speaking on the epidemic.

He explained that some countries are currently witnessing the re-emergence of cases, coinciding with the start of reopening of their economies and the return to normalcy, warning that the epidemic is accelerating globally, although many countries are making progress in dealing with it.

“The world has already lost a lot due to the epidemic, but we cannot lose hope, and this is the time to renew our commitment to empowering societies, preventing infection transmission, saving lives, and accelerating scientific research in this midst,” he added.
