French police gather in central Paris to protest against government

SANAA, June 14 (YPA) – Dozens of police cars gathered at  Arc de Triomphe in central Paris on Saturday to protest against government statements, which vowed to “never tolerate” racism among law enforcement officials.
BFM television showed dozens of vehicles parked with sirens and blue lights in front of the memorial, which witnessed severe unrest in December 2018, when the “Yellow Jackets” anti-government protests started.
French police had already participated in a protest march from the Champs-Elysées in Paris to the Ministry of the Interior on Friday.
Rights groups say that the death of an African-American citizen, George Floyd, by the police in a brutal manner, has sparked discussions around the world about police behavior, and in France in particular where police are accused of brutally and racistly dealing with residents of mostly immigrant background. .
