President Mahdi Al-Mashat sworn in at Parliament

SANAA, April 25 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi Al-Mashat on Wednesday was sworn in at the Parliament.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, President Al-Mashat delivered a speech before the parliament’s speaker and members, during which he extended his sincere condolences to all Yemeni people on the loss of the martyr president Al-Sammad.

The president affirmed that the enemy committed a very costly mistake.

“This enemy has chosen an open war,” Al-Mashat said, affirming that martyrdom of Al-Sammad increased the strong will and steadfastness of the Yemeni people.

The enemy exacerbates its mistakes, confiscates the decision of war from its hand, and doubles the size of similarities between it and its allies from Al-Qaeda and Daesh in thought, behavior, concept, practice, brutality and ugliness, he added.

Al-Mashat held the US administration responsible for the crimes committed by the Saudi regime under its supervision and sponsorship, including the killing of the president Al-Sammad, which according to international law is a political assassination and a violation of the sovereignty of the Yemeni people.

He confirmed that the martyred president’s project “A hand builds and another protects” would continue in the coming phase, expressing his thanks for the confidence of the parliament’s speaker and members.

Concluding his speech, the president called on Yemeni people to unite efforts at the official and popular levels to assume the responsibility and overcome challenges in order to build a bright future.
