3 protesters killed in central Baghdad bombing

SANAA, Nov. 16 (YPA) – Three powerful explosions rocked Baghdad on Friday evening, killing at least three protesters.

Correspondents of news agencies in Iraq reported that three explosions took place in Tahrir Square, the heaviest of which was a car bomb, which killed three people and wounded several others.

Iraqi security sources and eyewitnesses said that a car bomb near the camera shops, in the Eastern Door area, near Tahrir Square, central Baghdad, exploded, killing three protesters.

“A large number of people were injured in the explosion”, the sources added.

The wounded people were taken to hospitals near Tahrir,” one of the  security sources said.

The source confirmed that civil defense teams were able to control the fire, which broke out with a car that was near the booby-trapped car.
