Water Minister calls on int'l organizations to abide by integrity, transparency

SANAA, Nov. 7 (YPA) – Minister of Water and Environment Nabil al-Wazir on Thursday discussed in Sanaa with UNICEF Regional Director for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Ted Chaiban the cooperation relations in the field of water and sanitation projects.

The meeting reviewed the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Water and Environment to cope with citizens’ needs with regard to water projects and the organization’s supportive role in providing the necessary funds.

In the meeting, al-Wazir touched on the most important projects implemented by the Ministry during the past period and supported by the organization, noting the focus is currently on the implementation of sustainable projects in the areas of water and environmental sanitation.

He praised o the UNICEF support for the ministry during the past period, which enabled the ministry to provide services to citizens and contributed to the reduction of many epidemics.

UNICEF Regional Director confirmed the continuation of support for all existing projects, and that the organization is keen to develop the cooperation and partnership with the Ministry.

YPA
