Reuters: Five thousand barrels of oil looted from Yemen per day

SANAA, Oct. 16 (YPA) – Officials in the exiled Hadi’s government seized 5,000 barrels of oil per day from a field in Shabwah province and exported it through a Yemeni port in the Arabian Sea, Reuters reported on Wednesday.

“The company is resuming pumping oil from its fields in Shabwah in southern Yemen to a port in the Arabian Sea for export abroad,” an official at Safer Oil Company quoted as saying.

The official added that Safer is currently exporting oil at a rate of 5,000 barrels per day and expects to triple the pumping rate through the pipeline.

The Ministry of Oil and Minerals in Sanaa announced at a press conference on October 5th that the Saudi-led Aggression and its mercenaries looted the value of more than 18 million barrels of oil exports last year, and entered their value in private accounts in a bank in Saudi Arabia.

Minister of Oil and Minerals Ahmed Abdullah Daress said he was ready for any agreement that would allocate oil and gas revenues to pay the salaries of all employees.

A statement by an official in a Safer company opens the file of Yemeni wealth looted by the occupation, at a time when the Yemeni people are in a difficult economic situation due to the continuation of the aggression and blockade, in the light of the UN’s complicit silence.
