2 killed in accident at Aramco refinery

SANAA, Oct. 15 (YPA) – Saudi Aramco said on Tuesday that two people were killed and two others injured in an accident at the company’s Sasref refinery in Jubail during maintenance work on Sunday.

The company said in a statement, according to Reuters, “The victims were employees of one of the contractors involved in preparing a reservoir for operation,” adding that “maintenance work was not affected by the refinery.”

Until September, the Sasref refinery was a joint venture between Aramco and Royal Dutch Shell, before Aramco bought the project as part of a strategy to expand its operations.
