Cargo plane crashes in Congo

SANAA, Oct. 12 (YPA) – A cargo plane carrying presidential staff crashed on Thursday with eight people feared dead, a presidential adviser said on Friday.

The plane carrying President Felix Tshisekedi’s driver, director of logistics and some soldiers disappeared from radar screens at noon on Thursday, an hour after take-off, according to a statement by the Civil Aviation Authority.

The Russian embassy in the Democratic Republic of Congo said on its Facebook page that the initial information indicates that there were Ross among the crew of the plane.

The wreckage of the plane was found but the people on board were still missing, said the presidential  adviser.
