FM, WFP’s official discuss humanitarian challenges in Yemen

SANAA, May 7 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Monday discussed with Deputy Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP) Amir Mahmoud Abdulla activities of the Program Office in Yemen.

The meeting touched on the humanitarian challenges faced by citizens the repercussions of the economic war launched by Saudi-led aggression coalition and its tools on the country.

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister urged the WFP official to pursue transparency and coordination in the delivery of humanitarian aid to the targeted people.

Sharaf confirmed the readiness of the competent national authorities to cooperate fully in achieving an effective partnership serving the Yemeni citizens and contributing to alleviating their suffering.

For his part, Abdulla said that WFP is keen to work hard to contribute to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis in coordination and cooperation with the competent national authorities.
