Coalition mercenaries suffer setbacks, heavy losses in Jizan

JIZAN, May 4 (YPA) – Saudi-led coalition mercenaries on Saturday suffered casualties and heavy losses in military gear in confrontations with the Yemeni army and popular committees on border fronts in Jizan region, a military official told Yemen Press Agency.

The source said that the army forces backed by the popular committees repelled two infiltrations attempts by the Saudi army mercenaries from several directions in east of al-Doud Mountain.

Despite being backed by the coalition warplanes, Apache helicopters and spy planes, the mercenaries suffered a lot of human casualties and losses in military gear without making any progress on the ground, he added.

On Friday, a group of Saudi soldiers were killed and wounded in a joint operation carried out by the Yemeni army’s drones and artillery unit targeted their gathering at al-Satlah site, while others were killed and injured by a Zilzal-1 missile strike eastern Jahfan site in Jizan.
