Yemen turns air-to-air missile into anti-aircraft missile

SANAA, April 1 (YPA) – Videos have been circulated online showing an innovative air defense system in Yemen, which was built on the basis of Soviet air-to-air missile R-27T, according to information published on the Russian website afirsov.livejournal.com.

This air defense system developed in Yemen has preferential advantages that distinguish it from anti-aircraft shoulder-launched missiles, the most important of which is that the missile’s range reaches 80 kilometers.

The development process of the R-27T missile included providing it with a modern detection system and the ability to hit aircrafts at night.
