2 policemen killed in attack on police HQs in Taiz

TAIZ, April 2 (YPA) – Two soldiers of the so-called “military police” were killed and a civilian wounded on Tuesday in an armed attack on the police headquarters in Taiz city.

“An armed gang suspected to be from Saber district attacked the police headquarters in al-Moror Street in order to release a person held in the police prison controlled by militias of the Yemeni Islah Party (Muslim Brotherhood) in Taiz,” Yemen Press Agency correspondent in Taiz said.

The correspondent added that the attack was followed by clashes between the two sides, in which two soldiers of the military police and one of the attackers were killed and a civilian was injured.
