UAE-backed militias continue to expand in Shabwa

SHABWA, March 28 (YPA) – The UAE-backed militias or the so-called “Shabwani elite forces” on Thursday continued to carry out “White Mountains” operation, which they launched on Wednesday in Markha and Nesab districts of Shawba province.

Sources in the province said that the elite militias had established a camp in Bahar area at the border with Bayda province and deployed forces at entrances to cities, valleys and main roads.

The UAE-backed militias have been active over three years in the southern provinces of Yemen, attacking some tribes opposing to the UAE occupation project.
