Human Rights ministry condemns Saudi airstrike on Kitaf hospital

SANAA, March 27 (YPA) – The Ministry of Human Rights of Yemen has condemned the Saudi-led coalition aerial attack on the gate of a public hospital in Sa’ada province, which killed seven people, four of them children, and wounded eight others.

The ministry said in a statement to the Yemen News Agency (Saba) that the air raid has caused serious damage to the hospital, especially to the medical devices, offices, patients’ rooms and an ambulance vehicle, the driver of which was wounded, as well as burning down a gas station in front of the gate.

The statement pointed to the persistence of the Saudi aggression in the perpetration of massacres and heinous crimes against civilians and the destruction of infrastructure in the various provinces of Yemen and Sa’ada provinces, which is a flagrant violation of the rules and provisions of international law, of human rights and of international humanitarian law.

The ministry’s statement called on the United Nations and its Secretary-General to shoulder their responsibility to protect human beings from any violations and respect for national sovereignty.

The statement also called for the cessation of all forms of aggression and the systematic blockade of the Yemeni people and the establishment by the Security Council of an independent and impartial International committee to investigate all massacres and crimes committed against the citizens of Yemen.
