SANAA, March 26 (YPA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the start of the Saudi-led aggression against Yemen, in which they condemned the blatant aggression and called for an urgent end to the war.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry said in its statement that while the fourth year of aggression and the failed war against the Yemeni people has passed.
“More than 24 million are in need of immediate assistance, more than 15 million of them suffer from malnutrition and millions of children are on the verge of starvation,” the statement read.
All this is not because of crises, natural and climatic disasters, but because of the war and its persistence over four years amid the silence and disregard of the international community.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran declares its support for a complete and comprehensive cease-fire, the lifting of the unjust economic and humanitarian blockade against the Yemeni people and the launching of a political understanding among all Yemeni political components to meet the demands of this people.
Iran calls on the international community to support the efforts aimed at putting an end to the pain and suffering of the Yemeni people, especially children and women.”
The Iranian Foreign Ministry also renewed its support for the Stockholm accords and called on the countries concerned with the Yemeni crisis to provide the necessary ground for the full implementation of the ongoing agreements, hoping that the full implementation of the Stockholm accords would be the first step towards the final solution of the Yemeni crisis.
