Gunmen clash in popular market in Aden

ADEN, March 24 (YPA) – Violent clashes broke out on Sunday between gunmen in a popular market for selling Qat leaves in north of Aden province, southern Yemen.

According to eyewitnesses, the gunmen clashed in al-Kara’ souk in Dar Saad district, causing panic among the citizens, and looting quantities of Qat.

The reasons for the clashes were not mentioned.

Qat markets of Aden province witness from time to time clashes between armed elements, some of them affiliated to the UAE-backed militias.
