Yemen losses YER 700 million due to coalition airstrikes on historical sites in Mahwait

SANAA, March 30 (YPA) – Yemen lost 700 million Yemeni riyals due to the Saudi-led coalition warplanes hit dozens of historical and archaeological sites in al-Mahwait province.

Director of the General Authority for the Conservation of Historic Cities, Nabil Makdam, said the aggression warplanes targeted dozens of archaeological sites in Shibam Kokaban city.

Al-Makdam added the fighter jets destroyed  the historic tourist sites in in the village of Al-Mukher and Al-Sayila in Tawila district and al-Masnah’a area in Mahwait city.

The aggression combat jets completely destroyed almost 11 historical houses and damaged 150 others in the province, he said.
