Venezuela: Washington arms opposition to plunge country into civil war

SANAA, Feb. 27 (YPA) – Venezuela’s foreign minister, Jorge Arriaza has accused the United States and its allies of buying weapons for the Venezuelan opposition from Eastern Europe, with the aim of igniting the war in the country and plunging it into a civil war.

“We also announce information provided to us by friendly countries, such as Cuba and Russia, on the movement and mobilization of troops in the Caribbean and the purchase of weapons in Eastern Europe to send them to the Venezuelan extremist opposition,” Jorge Arriaza said during a meeting of the UN Security Council at the United Nations.

” And to create the conditions for intervention in Venezuela “he added.

The United States and its allies from Arab and Western countries have used such a scenario in the Syrian crisis, buying weapons from Eastern European countries and providing them with a donation to the Syrian opposition that they used inside Syrian cities and towns.

“The Government of the United States of America is organizing, financing and managing this brutal aggression against Venezuela,” the Venezuelan minister said.

“This aggression began many years ago, since the day the Bolivarian Revolution came to power on February 2, 1999, and lasted for days, hours and minutes of the last 20 years,” he concluded.
