UAE promotes infighting between militias in Yemen’s South

ADEN. Feb. 14 (YPA) -The United Arab Emirates (UAE), which are occupying a large part of Yemen’s southern provinces, is openly interfering in the internal politics of the country, according to southern media sources.

The report comes after four years of war waged by the UAE in the framework of the Saudi-led invasion of Yemen, and after many of the people of those provinces have been involved in fighting for the invaders, either for money or by force.

The sources added that the UAE forces support internal infighting within the ranks of militias and insurgents, in order to cause the division between them. The ultimate aim of Abu Dhabi is reportedly being able to loot Yemeni wealth more easily.

The UAE is providing generous support to an internal armed team in the coalition that is used to carry out assassinations and elimination of all its opponents in the southern provinces.

The southern Yemeni sources pointed out that the UAE is registering some individuals and excluding others, in order to widen the circle of fighting among them, so that one faction continues to back the Saudi project, while another backs the UAE project which carries the banner of southern secession.

Over the past two months, the southern provinces have seen major conflicts between different parties, manifested in al-Mahrah and Shabwah, where Saudi Arabia has pushed more of its military mechanisms and armed members of the Muslim Brotherhood-led by Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, while the UAE has supported elite militias like the Security Belt.

The fighting has resulted in dozens of clashes and large civilian casualties in both provinces.
