Deputy FM, ICRC delegation discuss cooperation areas

SANAA, Feb. 13 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi on Wednesday discussed with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Sanaa Franz Rauchenstein areas of cooperation between Yemen and the Committee and ways to enhance them.

In the meeting, al-Ezzi pointed out that “the aggression countries and their mercenaries” seek to abort Stockholm agreements and peace efforts through the military escalation in Hodeidah province and their daily violations of the ceasefire agreement.

Al-Ezzi reiterated the commitment of the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government to the implementation of Stockholm agreements in order to restore security and stability to Yemen and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

He appreciated the ICRC’s efforts and role in Yemen in providing food and health assistance and facilitating the implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement, confirming the Foreign Ministry’s readiness to provide all facilities for humanitarian organizations and their staff.

Rauchenstein expressed his appreciation for the facilities provided to the ICRC delegation, noting to the Committee’s intention to increase its activities during the current year in line with the growing humanitarian needs of the Yemeni people.
