Unknown gunmen attack local official loyal to coalition in Lahj

LAHJ, Feb.8 (YPA) – Unknown gunmen on Friday attacked a home of a local official loyal to Saudi-led coalition in Lahij province, southern Yemen in an attempt to kill him, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the sources, Unknown gunmen threw a bomb at the house of the General Director of Halmeen district, Abdel Fattah Haidra.

The sources indicated that the bomb exploded in the vicinity of the house and did not cause harm to anyone.

The attack comes as a result of the security chaos in Lahj and other occupied provinces in the south of Yemen, which has allowed armed militants to reinforce their positions in areas that are nominally under Saudi or Emirati control.
