Parliament determines vacant constituencies

SANAA, Feb. 2 (YPA) – The Yemeni Parliament on Saturday directed a letter to President of Supreme Committee for Elections and Referendum on vacant seats of the constituencies where elections could not be held due to the country’s exceptional circumstances under the aggression.

The letter confirmed the vacancy of the parliamentary seats of the constituency 91 in Ibb province, 260 in Hajjah province, 188 and 193 in Hodeidah provinces, 146 and 147 in Hadramout, and 277 in Marib province.

The parliament called on the committee to take the necessary measures to hold elections to fill the vacant seats of the above mentioned constituencies, in accordance with Article 78 of the Constitution and Article 198 of the parliament’s bylaws, and as required by the national interest.
