ICRC plane transfers Saudi captive “Awaji” to his country

SANAA, Jan. 29 (YPA) – Chief of Prisoners Affairs Committee Abdul-Qader al-Mortada on Tuesday said that the Saudi prisoner Musa Shu’i Awaji was transferred to his country via a plane of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) after his release on an initiative by Sayed Abdulmalik al-Houthi.

“Several parties have intervened to persuade the Saudi authorities to deal urgently to release the patient Saudi prisoner to no avail,” said al-Mortada in a statement to Yemen News Agency (Saba).

In view of this ignorance and disregard for this prisoner’s life and as a humanitarian initiative, Leader of the Revolution gave his directives to release him and to hand him over to his family, al-Mortada added.
