Libyan army kills senior leader of al-Qaeda

SANAA, Jan. 28 (YPA) – Libyan army forces have been able to eliminate one of the most dangerous terrorist elements during a qualitative operation, said Brigadier Ahmed al-Mismari, Spokesman for the General Command of the Armed Forces.

Al-Mismari wrote on his official Facebook Page that the Karama operations Room announces the killing of the terrorist and the leader of the extremist al-Qaeda “Adel Ahmed Abdali” “, nicknamed Abu al-Zubair al-Libi during a raid on terrorist’s hideouts in Sabha city.

He added that that al-Abdali was a very dangerous terrorist, who had joined the organization in Syria, was deported to Libya in 2004, imprisoned in Abu Salim prison and, in 2011, became an active component, especially in recruiting and coordinating the transfer of terrorists between Syria and Libya.

He said his relationship extends to Jabhat al-Nusra in Syria and is directly linked to the terrorist Abdul Moneim al-Hasnawi Abu Talha, who was killed in a qualitative operation of the armed forces last week.

Southern Libya has long been living in difficult security conditions of insecurity, with frequent kidnappings and assaults.
