Head of UN monitoring team arrives in Sanaa

SANAA, Jan. 26 (YPA) – Head of the United Nations monitoring team in the western city of Hodeidah General Patrick Cammaert arrived on Saturday at Sanaa International Airport, according to Yemen News Agency (Saba).

General Cammaert’s return comes after reports that he had submitted his resignation hours before his departure from Sanaa airport last week along with UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths heading for Riyadh to meet with the exiled Hadi.

Other media sources said the United Nations had accepted Cammaert’s resignation, but he is continuing to work until a replacement is chosen.
