SANAA, Jan. 7 (YPA) – Kuwaiti Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Arab World, Fahd Al Awadhi, has said that his country could host a new round of talks between the Yemeni parties to the conflict.
“There is another round of Yemeni talks that may be held in Kuwait, and we hope it will end with the signing of an agreement to end this crisis.”
“The timing of this depends on the development of things in Yemen and the implementation of what was agreed upon in the Sweden talks,” Al Awadhi said.
In December, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sabah Khaled al-Sabah said that his country is ready to host the signing ceremony of an agreement to end the war in Yemen.
The two parties to the conflict signed an agreement in Sweden in December, under the auspices of the United Nations, to cease fire in Hodeidah and withdraw their troops.
In 2016, Kuwait hosted a long round of Yemeni talks, but it did not end with a solution that ended the conflict there.
