TAIZ, Jan. 7 (YPA) – A military commander loyal to Saudi-led coalition on Monday survived from an assassination attempt by unidentified gunmen in Taiz province, southwest Yemen, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.
According to the Local sources, Unknown gunmen fired at the convoy of military police chief Brigadier Jamal al-Shamiri near the central prison.
The gunmen fled the scene, the sources said.
Brigadier Jamal al-Shamiri survived, but three his escorts were injured, one of the sources said.
Continued clashes between factions of the so-called popular resistance have been witnessed recently by the residential neighborhoods inside Taiz city, in addition to large-scale assassinations targeting civilians, military personnel and members of the resistance, in light of a full absence and inability of the authorities in those areas.
