Coalition militias commit 353 violations of ceasefire over 48 hours: Army Spokesman

SANAA, Jan. 6 (YPA) – Spokesman of the Yemeni army Brigadier Yahya Sarei on Sunday said Saudi-led coalition militias committed 353 violations of the UN-monitored-ceasefire in Hodeidah province during the past 48 hours.

“There is an exploitation of the poor performance of head of the UN team monitoring the ceasefire,” said Sarei during a press conference.

The coalition-backed militias fired 287 artillery shells and 12 Katyusha rockets at residential neighborhoods and villages in separate areas of Hodeidah province, according to the spokesman.

Sarei said that the coalition militias continued to fire from various medium and light weapons towards several areas in the city of Hodeidah and surrounding the city.

He noted that those violations were accompanied by flying of warplanes and reconnaissance aircrafts over the city and districts of Hais, al-Durihemi and al-Tuhayta.

The coalition warplanes waged 33 raids, mostly targeted districts of Saada province and several areas in the provinces of Jawf, Hajjah and Sanaa, which led to the killing of three citizens and injuring two others, as well as border areas in Najran and Jizan.
