SANAA, Dec. 31 (YPA) – The “Red Wave 1” maneuver from the Saudi city of Jeddah, with the participation of several countries bordering the Red Sea, was launched on Sunday with the aim of enhancing its defensive capabilities.
The countries which participated in the joint military exercise alongside Saudi Arabia are Jordan, Egypt, Sudan, Djibouti, troops from the government of outgoing President Hadi, and observers from Somalia, which last for 5 days.
According to the Saudi military statements, the maneuver enhances military cooperation and exchange of combat experience between the participating countries, in addition to contribute to the unification of military concepts and raise the readiness of combat among these forces.
