Unknown gunmen attack sit-in for Ya’afa tribesmen in Yemen’s Aden

ADEN, Dec. 25 (YPA) – Unknown gunmen attacked a sit-in for Ya’afa tribesmen in Yemen’s Southern port city of Aden on Wednesday, local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

According to the sources, an unidentified car opened fire towards demonstrators in the Caltex tour in Mansourah district.

The gunmen fled the scene, although there was a security point near the camp, one of the sources said.

The protesters demanded the release of Sheikh Awad Abdul Habeb and his son, who has been detained since three years in the UAE–run secret prisons in Aden.

Sheikh Abdul Habib’s family had staged a number of vigils over the past three years, demanding the fate of the merchant Sheikh Awad Ali Abdul Habeb Yafa’ai and his son to be disclosed and released.

Abdul Habib’s family held the UAE responsible for the life of Sheikh Awad Ali Abdul Habeb Yafa’ai and his son who is being held inside one of the Saudi-le d coalition camps in Brika district.
