SANAA, Dec. 14 (YPA) – Russian ambassador to Yemen Vladimir Didoshkin has disclosed technical details regarding the implementation of the agreement between the Yemeni warring parties on evacuating the city of Hodeidah from the troops.
“The plan to withdraw troops from the city is to create a buffer zone between the two warring parties, which is about one kilometre wide,” Vladimir Didoshkin told the RIA Novosti news agency in an interview on Friday.
He added that the troops of the two parties would be fully withdrawn from the city and its port within 45 days, under the supervision of a special commission to be established, which would include representatives of the United Nations and the parties to the conflict.
“The agreement on the prisoners’ swap between the two parties to the conflict will be implemented in late January and will include more than 400 people,” he said adding that they have agreed on the stages of the exchange process and where they will be implemented, as well as logistical issues.
