STOCKHOLM, Dec. 13 (YPA) – UN special envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, on Thursday said he would brief the UN Security Council Friday on the consensus that have been reached in Yemen consultations held in Sweden.
“Hodeidah agreement is a practical and tangible agreement and we should work to reopen Sanaa airport,” said Griffiths at the closing session of the peace talks held in the Swedish city of Rimba on Thursday, in presence of Yemeni negotiating delegations, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and Swedish Foreign Minister.
He explained that an agreement would be concluded on Sanaa airport file within a week or less.
“Yemen is suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, and the parties present here have an opportunity to change it,” he said and addressed the attendee saying “Yemen is in your hands.”
“You have achieved great success, and there are a number of issues that we will continue to work on,” he added.
