Anti-cholera epidemic campaign launched in Dhamar

DHAMAR, Nov. 25 (YPA) – Governor of Dhamar province Mohammed al-Maqdashi and Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Water and Environment Abdusalam al-Hakimi launched on Sunday an environmental campaign to combat the cholera epidemic in the province.

The campaign, implemented by the Public Authority for Environment Protection, will continue until 29 November with the support of UNICEF, targeting the city of Dhamar as a first phase.

During the inauguration, al-Maqdeshi referred to the importance of the campaign that targets marshes, sewage and garbage dumps in the city.

He said that the campaign would be carried out in two stages, the first in Dhamar, while the second stage would include districts of Anes and al-Hada.

Al-Hakimi noted that this campaign is an extension of similar environmental campaigns carried out by the ministry over last months in the capital Sanaa and Hodeidah province.
