Top commander survives assassination attempt in Taiz

TAIZ, Nov.18 (YPA) – A senior commander loyal to the Saudi-led coalition on Sunday survived an assassination attempt an assassination attempt in Taiz province, local sources said.

Unknown gunmen heavily opened fire towards a convoy Abdul Rahman Thabet al-Shamsani, commander of the 17th Infantry Brigade in al-Mafer district, injuring two his bodyguards.

Taiz has seen security disorder and conflicts between the coalition’s factions under an absence a local authority.
