SANAA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi on Sunday met with the newly-appointed head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Sanaa, Franz Rauchenstein.
Al-Ezzi discussed with Rauchenstein the worsening humanitarian situation in Yemen due to the aggression and blockade imposed on the country by Saudi-led coalition countries since March 26, 2015, as well as the recent military escalation in the western coast.
In the meeting, al-Ezzi reviewed the grave violations of international humanitarian law and international human rights law by the coalition countries in Yemen.
He confirmed the government’s readiness to provide all necessary facilitates for the mission to carry out its tasks.
For his part, Rauchenstein said that he would spare no effort to strengthen the partnership between Yemen and the ICRC and to contribute to alleviating the human suffering of the Yemeni people.
