After protesters killed, Mahra tribes demand dismissal of governor

MAHRA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – Tribes of Mahra province, eastern Yemen, on Saturday demanded that the governor be dismissed and tried on the background of the killing and injuring several protesters by Saudi occupation forces in the province last week.

“Shooting at peaceful protesters in al-Anfaq area on November 13, while having dinner at night by militias of Saudi occupation, and with an explicit directive of the governor appointed by the exiled Hadi, is a systematic crime,” said the organizing committee of the peaceful sit-in in the province in a statement.

The statement considered the crime “an organized terrorist behavior” and “an attempt by the Saudi occupation to drag the province’s residents into violence.”

The tribes stressed that they would continue their sit-in and peaceful struggle until liberating the province and expelling the Saudi and Emirati occupation forces from its lands.
