Socialist party in Aden defected

ADEN, Nov. 11 (YPA) – The leadership of the Yemeni Socialist Party in Aden branch announced on Sunday its dissolution from the party’s General Secretariat based in Sanaa, declaring a new name of their independent party as the “Southern Socialist Party.”

The declaration was made during a celebration to mark the 40th anniversary of the founding of the party.

The move backed by the United Arab Emirates, which has been occupying Aden since 2016 and seeking to end Yemen’s unity.
