Detainees in UAE-run prison in Aden resume hunger strike

ADEN, Nov. 5 (YPA) – A number of detainees and forcibly disappeared persons in Bir-Ahmed prison, which is run by UAE occupation forces in the southern port city of Aden, resumed on Monday their open hunger strike.

A human rights source said that the detainees decided to resume their hunger strike after a suspension of almost a month to give the occupation authorities and Aden’s prosecution an opportunity to meet their demands.

The detainees submitted a letter to the prison director, confirming their strike decision and holding the Aden prosecution fully responsible for non-fulfillment of its promises regarding the release of the prisoners, whose release order had been issued, according to the source.
