ADEN, Nov. 1 (YPA) – A Yemeni detainee died on Thursday in Bir Ahmed Prison, which is run by UAE occupation forces, in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, a local official told Yemen Press Agency.
“The detainee, Mohammed al-Zamki, died by suicide,” local sources said, while other sources suggested that “he died in mysterious circumstances and may have died of torture.”
The UAE continues to hold hundreds of people in secret prisons in the city of Aden, where they are subjected to abuses and torture.
According to reports of local and international organizations, “violations against detainees amount to war crimes.”
